ASL Interpreter – Benton, Louisiana
Full-Time | ASAP - May 20, 2024 | 40 hours per week
We’re seeking a dedicated ASL Interpreter for a full-time, onsite position in Benton, Louisiana to work with students in an educational setting. If you're passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and have the required skills and credentials, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one interpretation services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Interpret classroom instruction, ensuring clear communication between the student and teacher.
- Support students in academic and extracurricular activities, ensuring they understand and can fully participate.
- Work closely with school staff to adapt lessons and ensure all students have access to the curriculum.
Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana ASL Interpreter License.
- Educational Interpreter Certification required.
- High School Diploma, HiSET, or GED.
- Achieve a level of 3.0 on one of the standardized videotape versions of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA): ASL, MCE, or PSE at the elementary and/or secondary level.
Position Details:
- Classroom: 1-on-1 interpretation for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Hours per Week: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Weekly Pay: Competitive salary, based on experience
