School Social Worker Part-Time – 2022-2023 School Year – River Forest, IL

Sunbelt is seeking a flexible and compassionate School Social Worker to join our academic team in River Forest, IL. The school Social Worker will provide direct and indirect school social work services as a related service in support of special education. If you are passionate about working with parents and teachers to help develop effective ways of handling disruptive behavior, how to help manage crisis situations, and meet the minimum requirements, you are encouraged to apply today.

Responsibilities:

Assist teacher and parents in developing and implementing behavior management plants to remediate problem behaviors
Assist students to improve their academic, personal, and social functioning
Manage student and classroom behavior
Provide social skills, anger management, stress reduction, or other similar instruction
Provide short-term individual and group counseling to students who are experiencing social/emotional/behavioral problems that interfere with learning

Student caseload – Variety of Needs, Elementary
August 22nd – June 15th

Requirements:

One year experience as a School or Pediatric Social Worker

Active Illinois School Social Worker License by IL Board of Teaching

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in Social Work
