ASL Interpreter – Issaquah, Washington

We're looking for a part-time ASL Interpreter to support a 7th grade student with mild hearing loss in Issaquah, WA. This rewarding role provides the opportunity to make a significant difference in a student’s education by ensuring communication access. Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation for a medically fragile student with mild hearing loss.
  • Travel between two school sites (if onsite), ensuring smooth communication throughout the day.
  • Work closely with the student and staff to promote educational success.
  • Ensure accurate, clear interpretation for classroom activities and communication.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA with a minimum score of 4.0 OR NIC Certification.
  • Passing score on the EIPA written test.
  • Experience with ASL interpretation and working with students.
  • Washington State ASL Interpreter Certification preferred.
  • Onsite preferred, but virtual candidates will be considered.

Position Details:

  • Location: Issaquah, WA (Travel between two school sites required if onsite)
  • Hours per Week: Up to 19.5 hours
  • Dates: ASAP – 06/18/2024
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive, based on experience
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K plan.
  • Contract Duration: Current school year with the possibility to extend for summer school and 2024-2025 school year.
