Paraprofessional 2022-2023 School Year | Wakefield, MA
We are looking for paraprofessionals to provide appropriate academic, behavior, social, emotional, and vocational learning opportunities for students with disabilities for the 2022-2023 school year. CNAs, mental health techs, and recent psychology grads welcome to apply!
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists teachers by providing one-on-one support for individual students as required.
- Prepares learning materials to meet individual learning styles, i.e., study guides, modified worksheets, taped reading assignments, etc.
- Aids in the delivery of specialized assessment and instruction for students with disabilities (or at risk) and provides documentation of students’ progress on targeted goals and objectives.
- Assists teachers by working on individual goals and objectives as determined by students’ IEPs.
- Corrects class work and homework, documenting and reporting areas of strength and weakness.
- Assists in the supervision of students on field trips and other off-campus sites as needed.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal and/or the Director of Special Education
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Secondary Education
- Ability to pass a drug screen and federal background clearance.
Relevant Experience:
Successful experience working with students who display characteristics associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental delays
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel, parents, students, and community members
Ability to be patient and flexible in work assignments
Ability to positively follow the directions and instructions of the teacher
Ability to relate positively to children with disabilities
