Are you a skilled Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) looking to make a meaningful impact? We have a part-time opportunity in Somerville, Massachusetts, where you can help students with visual impairments navigate their world and thrive academically.

Position Details:

• Position: Part-Time (0.2 FTE)
• Hours per Week: 7.5 hours
• Details: District-wide, providing essential mobility training and support to students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments.
• Develop individualized plans to enhance students' independence and mobility skills.
• Collaborate with educators and families to support student success.
• Use adaptive technologies and mobility tools to aid in skill development.

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) License required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orientation and Mobility or a related field
• Experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred, but not required

Position Details:

• Classroom: District-wide
• Hours per Week: 7.5 hours
• Weekly Pay: Competitive

• Contract Duration: Current school year, with the potential to extend for summer school and the 2024-2025 school year
