Occupational Therapist - Panama City, Florida
Bilingual Therapies is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position involves providing on-site occupational therapy services to students across K-12th grade. The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting, a strong understanding of pediatric therapy, and a commitment to helping students achieve their fullest potential.
Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Services: Provide individual and group occupational therapy services to students, focusing on improving their ability to perform tasks in their daily school environment.
- Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations to determine students' functional abilities and needs, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers to implement and support students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
- Consultation: Provide guidance and training to teachers and parents on strategies to support students' motor skills and functional abilities in the classroom.
- IEP Meetings: Participate in IEP meetings to share progress, update goals, and plan for continued support.
- Adaptation of Materials: Modify and adapt school materials and environments to meet the physical and cognitive needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Florida.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
