Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students K-5
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and parents
- Conduct assessments and provide referrals as needed
- Serve as a liaison between the school, home, and community resources
- Assist in crisis intervention and create a safe, supportive learning environment
Position Details:
- Caseload/Workload: 0.6 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) at one elementary school, 0.4 FTE at another, and 1.0 FTE at a third elementary school
- Hours per Week: 40 hours per week (split across multiple schools)
- Weekly Pay: Competitive and based on experience
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K
- Contract Duration: September 16, 2024 - May 30, 2025, with potential to extend into summer school and the 2024-2025 school year
- Interview Process: Conducted via Zoom for convenience
Qualifications:
- Illinois Teaching Certificate (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
- Proven experience or strong desire to work with elementary-age children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and staff
