Job Responsibilities:

Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers during classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and meetings
Adapt interpreting techniques based on the student’s individual needs and educational goals

This is a full time position while working with a High School female student.

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, NIC, or EIPA preferred)
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Experience working in a school setting preferred
Ability to adjust interpreting style to meet the needs of students of varying ages and communication preferences
