Special Education Teacher (Cognitive Impairment)

We are looking for passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team in Romulus, Michigan! With two openings available, you will work with high school students (9th/10th grades and 11th/12th grades) in Work/Life Skills classes. This is a full-time, onsite position with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with cognitive impairments (CI) in 9th-12th grade.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Support students in developing work and life skills to prepare for independence.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and administration to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.

Qualifications:

• Michigan Special Education Certification required.
• Endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (CI) is required.
• Experience in special education and work/life skills instruction is preferred.

Position Details:

• Classroom: Work/Life Skills classes for 9th/10th grades and 11th/12th grades.
• Hours per Week: Full-Time, on-site.
• Weekly Pay: Competitive, based on experience.
• Benefits: Comprehensive package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K plan.
• Contract Duration: Current school year, with an option to extend for the 2024-2025 school year.
