We’re seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in beautiful Cape Elizabeth, ME! Position Highlights:

Role: Full-Time Special Education Teacher
Grade Level: Elementary (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
Caseload: 13 students
Focus Areas: Reading, Math, and Writing difficulties
Duties: Includes reevaluation IEP writing, goal monitoring, and assisting with Pre-K to Kindergarten transitions.
Hours per Week: Full-time, following the school schedule
Contract Duration: Current school year 2024-2025

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
Monitor progress and adjust instructional methods to support reading, math, and writing skills.
Provide targeted interventions for students to help them meet their academic goals.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support seamless transitions from Pre-K to Kindergarten.
Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress and plans.

Qualifications:

Maine State Certification in Special Education is required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
Experience with early elementary students is preferred.
Strong skills in IEP development, evaluation, and implementation.
