Full-time Special Education Teacher - Cape Elizabeth, ME

Position Highlights:
- Role: Full-Time Special Education Teacher
- Grade Level: Elementary (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
- Caseload: 13 students
- Focus Areas: Reading, Math, and Writing difficulties
- Duties: Includes reevaluation IEP writing, goal monitoring, and assisting with Pre-K to Kindergarten transitions.
- Hours per Week: Full-time, following the school schedule
- Contract Duration: Current school year 2024-2025
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
- Monitor progress and adjust instructional methods to support reading, math, and writing skills.
- Provide targeted interventions for students to help them meet their academic goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support seamless transitions from Pre-K to Kindergarten.
- Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress and plans.
Qualifications:
- Maine State Certification in Special Education is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience with early elementary students is preferred.
- Strong skills in IEP development, evaluation, and implementation.
