Paraprofessional – 22/23 School in Daly City, California

Sunbelt is now hiring paraprofessional for next school year who will provide support to a school district in Daly City, CA. If you have one-year experience working with high school students with learning or behavioral disorders, you are encouraged to apply. We are looking to hire as soon as possible.

Qualifications:

• One year working with pediatrics with learning or behavioral disabilities
• Comfortable working with vulnerable populations
• Basic Life Support American Heart Association or CPR (preferred)
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time
• High School Diploma or GED and some college classes in Education, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Studies related (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to all resident and guests
• Attending to students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
• Support teachers and students with extracurricular activities and school functions
• Administrative duties such as grading papers, bulletin boards, tracking attendance, photocopying
• Assist residents/guests to ensure a safe environment, including compliance with rules and policies
• Respond to emergency situations that may arise, making independent decisions within policy guidelines, as necessary
• Provide crisis intervention and institute security and safety procedures should a critical or threatening situation arise
• 1:1 support with a student
• Perform other duties as requested

Details:

• Work On-Site at School Location: Daly City, CA

• Full Time – 8:00am-3:00pm, 8:30am-3:30pm, depending on school

• Student caseload – Variety of Needs, High School

• 2022-2023 School: August-June
