Exciting Opportunity: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Highland Park, IL
Are you a dedicated and certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) ready to make a difference? We’re seeking a skilled professional to provide vision services for students in Highland Park, IL. This itinerant position offers the chance to support and empower students across multiple grade levels.
Position Highlights:
- Location: Onsite, Highland Park, IL (itinerant role)
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours/week
- Caseload:
- 5 students (5th-12th grade) receiving direct weekly vision services
- 7 students (EC, middle, and high school) with monthly consultation needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative vision services tailored to student needs
- Support students with visual impairments, including those with multiple impairments
- Utilize the Expanded Core Curriculum and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Travel between sites as required
Qualifications:
- Required License: Illinois Professional Educator License (PreK-12) with an endorsement for students with visual impairments
- Dual certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility Specialist preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field
- Experience working with school-aged children and students with multiple impairments
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Ability to travel between sites
