We invite you to participate in our 2008 Bilingual Therapies Symposium to be held
in Los Cabos, México, July 17th - 19th! This unique symposium is designed to build
on the knowledge base of practicing bilingual speech-language pathologists by
emphasizing current research and theory and highlighting how they can be applied
to everyday practice. For two days, presenters will hold two-hour sessions dealing
with current topics in bilingual speech-language pathology.
A primary goal of this year’s symposium is to allow attendees to interact with speakers
and other clinicians. The conference is arranged so that each participant will attend
all five presentations in a smaller group setting. These sessions will allow participants
to receive information and ask questions about current knowledge and practices in
bilingual speech-language assessment and intervention.
The Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort will host our Bilingual Therapies
Symposium. Located at the tip of México’s Baja Peninsula, this scenic paradise
boasts 11 acres of golden beach on the Sea of Cortez, two swimming pools, and
breathtaking views. The Hilton Los Cabos sits between quaint, colonial San José del
Cabo and fun-filled Cabo San Lucas, both of which are a brief shuttle ride away
from the resort.
In addition to the opportunity to visit this beautiful part of México, the symposium is a
great chance to share ideas with colleagues and receive up to 1.0 CEUS (10 hours)!
SCHOLARSHIPS
Bilingual Therapies, Inc. continues to support graduate students
through providing a scholarship fund for the annual Bilingual
Symposium. The scholarship covers the cost of the symposium
as well as a shared room at the Hilton in Los Cabos, Mexico.
To qualify for the scholarship, students interested in bilingual
speech-language pathology should speak a second language
and be entering the final year of their graduate program.
