For students interested in licensure as a public school speech-language pathologist, the program is accredited by the Department of Public Instruction of the State of Wisconsin (DPI-WI). Located in a large metropolitan area, Marquette is ideally positioned to provide its speech-language pathology students with a large and diverse choice of clinical sites (e.g., hospitals, clinics, nursing homes) for practicum experiences. Number of instructional staff holding CCC is eleven in speech-language pathology, one in audiology. Resources include the following laboratories: birth to three, preschool language, child language, augmentative/assistive communication, voice physiology, orofacial, neurolinguistics, computer and audiology. A bilingual English-Spanish Certificate (BESC) is offered through the masters' degree program or as continuing education for practicing SLPs. Candidates for the BESC must be accepted to the SLP master's program or posses a master's degree and ASHA certification as a SLP if pursuing the BESC as continuing education.
