can I apply?

Who
should apply?
Bilingual clinicians and CFs that speak a second language at native or near-native proficiency and that are interested in working with bilingual/bicultural children.

At what level must I speak another language in order to work for your company?
According to ASHA, in order to be considered a bilingual clinician you must be able to speak at least one other language with native or near-native proficiency in vocabulary, semantics, pronunciation, grammar, and pragmatics during clinical management. That is the level that we require.

We interview applicants in Spanish to assess their proficiency level.

If
I have bilingual skills, but don't have near-native proficiency, can I
still work for your company?
If you are working on becoming bilingual, but you don’t have near-native proficiency you can still apply for employment with our company. We will train you to become a bilingual clinician, and until you reach near-native proficiency you will work for us as a monolingual clinician.

What
credentials do you need to work for Bilingual Therapies?
You need to have a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology; if you are approaching graduation you are encouraged apply. While in your CF Year, you will need to obtain necessary certification and a temporary license, if applicable. If you already have your CCC’s from ASHA you need to have a State License and certification to practice in the state where you would like to work.

What would my caseload be?
There are many factors that affect the size of your caseload. It will depend on the state and the district where you work. The caseload size will be comparable to what other clinicians in the same school district have.

It depends on the site. Resources vary from district to district.

I get a budget for materials?
Clinicians receive a package of diagnostic materials in addition to a materials budget for the school year.

Do
you offer referral bonuses?
Bilingual Therapies encourages clinicians to refer friends or colleagues for employment. For every clinician referred that is hired and works for the company for one year, the employee will receive $500 at the end of the referred clinician’s contract year.
